Creativity in a Nutshell & Where I've Been
I’m one of those people that goes through dry periods of no creative flow what so ever. We’re talking days, weeks, sometimes months. I want to create, but every time I try, I end up deleting it or not using it. Just because it’s not right. The fact that I’m writing this blogpost means that it came back to me, but I’ve just gone through a pretty long dry period. Exhibit A: check the date of my last blogpost…
I have done a bit of writing in the meantime, as I got my first article published with the Whoman Journal. A Danish online magazine with some English articles sprinkled around here and there. I’ll continue to write for the Whoman Journal about once a month or so. I love the fact that I get to get my writing published. Honestly, whatever can put me in front of readers and closer to the success criteria of writing my own book. I’m very grateful for that.
What I’ve also been doing is taking jobs to explore different fields that the one I’ve worked in until I went self employed last April. I’ve been working a bit more in arts (which I’ve really enjoyed), but I have also taken on more clients with SEO needs (which seriously satisfies my inner love for putting things into boxes. That feeling of something either being correct or incorrect; quite the opposite of being a creative person).
Lastly, the other night I was home alone, watching Zoë Sugg’s Vlogmas from 2015 (don’t ask my why I watch vlogmas in May, I might just love Christmas that much), and suddenly felt the creative fluids flowing again. So I did, what I have wanted to do in a while: start another Instagram. I obviously still have my personal one, but I wanted to start an archive of beautiful imagery, that both inspire me and from which I feel like I can express myself through. I always loved Pinterest and Tumblr, but I sort of stopped using those because Instagram took over everything. So, now I started my own version of those two combined @thevisualfolder. You’re very welcome to go follow, it’s really just for me to express creativity in other ways then through fashion and lifestyle, but I’m already in love with the universe.
And with that, I bid you all a lovely, sunny weekend! What are you all doing? I’m working in the before-mentioned gallery all weekend, but that’s for sure going to be lots of fun too. Bye now!
